Niacinamide & Panthenol: the repairing duo at the heart of our formulas
Partager
At Kosmorebi, every ingredient is chosen for a specific reason. Niacinamide and panthenol are among those active ingredients that science has largely validated, and which we have integrated into our formulas for their complementary effectiveness and exceptional tolerance.
Niacinamide: much more than just an anti-pore active ingredient
Niacinamide—also known as vitamin B3—is one of the most versatile active ingredients in cosmetology. It is often known for its ability to regulate sebum, tighten pores, and even out skin tone. But what truly makes it remarkable is its deep action on the very structure of the skin.
Niacinamide stimulates the synthesis of ceramides—these essential lipids that constitute the cement of the skin barrier. Without sufficient ceramides, the skin becomes porous, sensitive, and dehydrated. It also promotes the production of the skin's natural moisturizing factors (NMFs): hyaluronic acid, amino acids, urea... These molecules are what your skin produces itself to stay hydrated from within. By stimulating them, niacinamide helps the skin regain its natural balance rather than simply compensating on the surface.
In summary, niacinamide:
- Regulates sebum and tightens pores
- Evens out skin tone and reduces blemishes
- Strengthens the skin barrier thanks to ceramides
- Stimulates NMFs for long-lasting internal hydration
- Reduces redness and soothes reactive skin
Panthenol: the great repairer
Panthenol is the stable form of provitamin B5. Once applied to the skin, it converts into pantothenic acid, an active ingredient that skin cells use directly to regenerate.
Its action is simultaneously hydrating, soothing, and repairing. It attracts and retains water in the superficial layers of the skin, accelerates the healing of micro-lesions, and strengthens the skin barrier. It is the active ingredient of choice for sensitive, damaged, or easily reactive skin.
In summary, panthenol:
- Deeply moisturizes and retains water in the skin
- Soothes irritations and redness
- Accelerates skin barrier repair
- Suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive
Why combine them?
Together, niacinamide and panthenol act synergistically: one rebuilds the barrier in depth by stimulating ceramides and NMFs, the other repairs and protects it on the surface. It is this complementarity that convinced us to place them at the heart of our Confort Cocoon moisturizing cream, the centerpiece of our Cocoon range—specially designed for dry, sensitive, and reactive skin that needs a comforting, repairing, and deeply hydrating treatment.
We don't use them in all our formulas—but where the skin needs to be restored and protected, this duo is our preferred choice.
Because the best skincare works with your skin, not in its place. 🌿
